What to Wear Wednesday!

If everything goes right, I'll be launching my Etsy-shop this Sunday! Yes, it will be the first of April, but it's no joke. I really hope to spend my Sunday evening sipping a glass of bubbles and feeling happy about my shop. So, a few more days of hard work and then you're all welcome to look at the accessories I made for you and your home!

Of course, today it's Wednesday, so I decided that for this What to Wear, I'm going to give you a sneak peek at an item of my collection. Your benefit of being a faithful reader! My first collection is called Día de los Muertos and it is inspired on the Mexican holiday that celebrates the love and respect you have for your deceased friends and family. It may sound sad, but it's actually a bright colored day and funny anecdotes and memories of the departed will be told. I think it's a beautiful and positive way to honor your dead loved ones.

one item of my collection!

I hope you like this brooch, made from a wooden base with a painted skull and a polymer rose on it. Have a nice Wednesday!

What to Wear Wednesday

A few days ago, my MAC Carbon eyeshadow case went empty. So, I could finally go and buy make-up to replace it, woohoo! According to the rules of my challenge, it had to be the same of course. So I bought the same, but then better. The lady at the MAC store-in-store showed me something new; a case with place for four shades, which can be placed easily because of the magnet under the palette refill pan. And when it's finished, you only have to trow away the empty pan instead of a whole case, so, less waste! I can't wait for my Grain and Embark to go empty, so I can put refills for hem in my handy palette too!

love the design too!

The spokesperson of MAC Viva Glam that inspires me the most is, and that might not be a surprise, Dita von Teese. She is gorgeous, has a terrific style and drinks Cointreau, which I also really like to sip! But because it's What to Wear Wednesday, and springtime(!) I would like to give you the best fashion tip Dita ever gave in an interview; Wear Sunscreen!

What to Wear Wednesday

Last week we went to a delicious Italian restaurant, Da Nello,  in our home town with a few friends. It's a restaurant you don't visit every month, well not even every half year, due to the prices. But the night you do go, you can be sure of hours of delicacy!

Vino Rosso

Because of our Italian night, I started thinking about classic Italian beauties and of course, Sophia Loren came to mind. I found a picture of her that's so charming, it will be today's inspiration! Let see if we can get dressed like her and perhaps feel just half as divine as she looks.

Sultry!

At etsy.com they also have a lot of vintage, so that's where I scored the pics for this What to Wear Wednesday. The graceful dress is from Simplicity is Bliss. I chose a darker kind of necklace to contrast with the white dress at Twysted Creations together with this ring that really compliments the ensemble. To finish the look I found these lovely shoes at Dear Golden. Have some nice daydreams of yourself, wandering through Rome!

A weekend in Amsterdam

This weekend we went to Amsterdam to visit friends who just moved into their new house. We could park beneath their building and when we got to their apartment, delicious mimosa's were waiting for us! After a grand tour and meeting Vink, their super cute blind cat we went up to the city center. And being restricted to vintage shops only, there were plenty of stores for me to sift and discover some real treasure!

In "De 9 Straatjes" there are all kinds of nice shops for people who want to explore their abilities to create a look of their own. From "Zipper" to "Het Brillen Museum" you can delve into a world where no item looks the same as the next. But the store where I found my gem was at the Haarlemmerstraat, called Wini Vintage.

Wini Vintage

A spacious store with a really nice lady that helps to find whatever it is you are looking for. I must be honest, when I entered, I didn't know what I was aiming for at all. I mean, maybe I would find some nice shoes, a flirty dress or a charming cardigan. It had been a few months since the start of my challenge, and this was my first time on the prowl for a nice vintage piece just for moi! And there it was, just standing between the others. An embroidered bag.

Gorgeous!

I don't think it stood there very long, because such a beauty would have been spotted by other hunters right away! The outside perhaps has endured some dusty environments, but the inside looks like it has never been used. So clean and unharmed, with a few compartments for my phone and make-up. Maybe it's because I haven't bought anything for a little while, or maybe it's the feeling of victory you get from successful scavenging, but I am really feeling good about this bag!

and lots of space
